The short answer
For clinics and labs, a polyaspartic floor coating offers a seamless, non-porous surface that resists harsh chemicals, spills and stains, cleans easily, and can be slip-resistant. It cures quickly, so your facility is closed for less time, and commercial floors carry a 5-year warranty.
- Hygienic surfaceSeamless and non-porous, so liquids stay on top and the floor is easy to sanitize.
- Chemical resistantHolds up to lab spills and the disinfectants used in routine cleaning.
- Safer for patientsSlip-resistant options add footing for patients, visitors and staff.
- Short closuresFast cure times help clinics and labs reopen sooner than with epoxy.
What healthcare and lab floors go through
Clinic and lab floors are cleaned far more often than most. A busy practice may mop the same hallway several times a day. Mops, disinfectants and spills hit them every day, along with rolling carts, chairs and steady foot traffic. Worn or porous flooring can trap moisture and grime, and seams and grout lines are hard to keep sanitary.
Labs add chemical spills to the list. A floor that stains, softens or breaks down when something is dropped becomes a cleaning and safety problem. Patient safety adds one more demand: a floor that stays steady underfoot for people using walkers, canes or wheelchairs.
Medical office epoxy flooring vs. polyaspartic
Epoxy is a familiar choice, but it takes days to cure and can yellow and chip over time. Our polyaspartic system cures fast, stays UV stable near windows, and is highly resistant to harsh chemicals and stains.
Because the surface is seamless and non-porous, it doesn't absorb liquids, which makes regular cleaning and disinfecting simpler. The coating can also be customized for anti-microbial or anti-static requirements. Learn more on our polyaspartic flooring page.

Planning an install around patients and staff
We start with diamond grinding to prepare the concrete, repairing minor cracks and stains along the way. Then come the polyurea base coat and the polyaspartic topcoat, with a flake broadcast or solid color depending on the look you want.
Smaller areas, like a single exam suite or lab room, can often be coated in a day. The work happens in stages: we grind and repair the slab, apply the base coat, add any flake, and seal it with the topcoat, all in the same visit for most smaller rooms. For a larger facility we'll plan the schedule with you, often in phases or on days you're closed, so patient care and lab work keep going.
- Free on-site assessment and honest slab evaluation
- Phased work so part of the facility stays open
- After-hours or weekend scheduling can be discussed

Colors and a 5-year warranty
Solid colors give a clean clinical look, while subtle flake blends like Ice Cap or Fieldstone hide everyday scuffs. A lighter floor also makes spills easy to spot. Different colors can help separate patient areas from labs and storage. Commercial floors carry a 5-year warranty from Heritage.
If your facility has specific flooring requirements, bring them to the assessment and we'll go over them together.
Related spaces we coat
Medical buildings often include storage rooms, staff break areas and service corridors that wear just as hard as patient areas. The same seamless system works throughout, so you can plan one project instead of several. Doing it together also means one assessment, one schedule and one warranty for the building.
Veterinary clinics have their own needs, covered on our animal facility floor coating page. If your building has a staff kitchen or cafeteria, see commercial kitchen flooring, and schools with a nurse's office or science labs can read about school floor coating. Our commercial floor coating hub lists every facility type we work with.

Questions
Healthcare & lab flooring: straight answers
Can the floor handle daily disinfecting?
Yes. The polyaspartic topcoat is highly resistant to harsh chemicals, including the cleaning agents and disinfectants used in clinics. Because the surface is seamless and non-porous, liquids stay on top, so frequent cleaning won't soak into or break down the floor. Simple soap and water handles routine cleaning between disinfecting.
Is it a good choice for a laboratory?
It is a strong option. Labs need a floor that stands up to chemical spills and regular cleaning, and our coating is highly resistant to harsh chemicals and stains. Tell us which chemicals you work with during the assessment so we can talk through the right setup for your lab.
Can the coating be anti-microbial or anti-static?
The coating can be customized to meet anti-microbial or anti-static requirements. Share your facility's needs with us during the free on-site assessment, and we'll go over the options before we quote the work. Combined with a seamless, non-porous surface, it gives a clinic or lab floor that is easy to keep clean.
How long will my clinic need to close?
Smaller areas can often be done in a day, and the coating cures much faster than epoxy. For larger facilities we plan the schedule with you, often in phases or over a weekend. That way patient care keeps going while the work is done. Call (737) 637-3732 or contact us to set up a visit.
