The product and the prep just aren't strong enough long term, so while kits and cheap installs cost less, plan on redoing them in a couple of years. That's why their warranties are short.

Yellowing: what UV does to epoxy
Epoxy floors can win you over with a low price, but they're like sunscreen that quits after an hour: UV rays turn them an unflattering yellow, especially kits that skimp on quality. Polyaspartic is the reliable sun hat. It sets fast, stands up to wear and keeps its color.
Bubbling: outgassing and poor prep
Bubbles in epoxy usually come from outgassing: trapped air or moisture under the surface expands with heat and escapes while the epoxy cures. Improper mixing or coating a very porous slab without proper prep causes it too. Bubbles look bad and weaken the floor. Polyaspartic cures faster, which cuts the risk of outgassing, and it is less sensitive to moisture during application.
So is the cheaper epoxy option actually cheaper?
Polyaspartic flooring costs more upfront, but its durability, fast cure and UV resistance make it a long-term investment. Epoxy is cheaper at first and costs more to maintain as it yellows, bubbles or peels. Over the life of the floor, polyaspartic usually comes out as the more economical, less stressful choice.
